The perfect race to start the season of mountain running

News 2023: 75% of new course!

The Alpe Adria Ultra Trail 25 km undergoes a complete transformation, responding to the excitement generated by the winter course and the athletes’ requests to reduce elevation gains and eliminate the concrete sections of ski slopes, visible during the summer.

The new route, which retains the thrilling climb to Monte Lussari, has been redesigned by 75%, ensuring a unique and captivating experience.

From the starting blocks, athletes will dive into the first 8 km along the enchanting Valbruna-Tarvisio stage of the Alpe Adria Trail, perfect for warming up muscles and savoring the atmosphere of Valcanale and the charming views of Val Saisera.

Before the ascent, a refreshment point awaits the runners, who will tackle the path 614, the first route of the pilgrims up to the summit of Monte Lussari. Here, they will follow in the footsteps of the winter trail, testing their endurance.

Upon reaching the summit, the athletes will embark on a descent along the pilgrim’s path, where they can test their technical skills and speed control on the downhill, before returning to the Palasport without facing any additional elevation gains.

The new Alpe Adria Ultra Trail 25 km has been carefully designed to balance fast sections with technical climbs and thrilling descents, avoiding exposed passages and offering breathtaking panoramas, such as the marvelous Val Saisera.

Despite being shorter and with less elevation gain, the revamped course is even more fascinating and engaging thanks to the inclusion of new elements that enhance the beauty of the Montasio and Mangart mountain ranges, highlighting the essence of Trail Running. Athletes and trail running enthusiasts will find this renewed challenge an unforgettable experience, focused on pushing their limits and discovering unique panoramas of the Julian Alps.
